BidGoat Prohibited Items Policy

Last Updated: August 14, 2026

BidGoat is a peer-to-peer marketplace for jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, and watches. Listings outside these categories are not permitted. This policy explains what may not be sold on BidGoat, how we enforce it, and what happens when a seller violates it.

This policy applies to every listing, auction, Buy It Now offer, Must Sell flash sale, message, photo, and description on the platform. It applies to all sellers without exception.

1. Authenticity and Intellectual Property

Counterfeit goods are strictly prohibited and result in immediate permanent removal from BidGoat. Because BidGoat operates in the jewelry and luxury watch categories, authenticity is the single most important rule on the platform. There is no warning and no second chance for counterfeits.

The following are prohibited:

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of every claim made in a listing. If you cannot substantiate a brand, material, grading, or authenticity claim, do not make it.

2. Ownership and Provenance

3. Categories Outside BidGoat's Scope

BidGoat lists jewelry, watches, diamonds, gemstones, and related accessories only. The following are prohibited regardless of legality:

4. Regulated, Restricted, and Unsafe Goods

5. Offensive and Harmful Content

6. Prohibited Seller Conduct

Beyond what is listed, the following conduct is prohibited and carries the same consequences:

7. Enforcement

BidGoat reviews listings and investigates reports from buyers, sellers, and rights holders. Violations escalate as follows:

Offense Consequence
First offense Warning issued and listing removed, with a written explanation
Second offense 7-day account suspension. Cannot list or bid during suspension.
Third offense Permanent ban from BidGoat

Severe violations bypass this ladder entirely. Counterfeit items, fraud, threats, and stolen goods result in immediate permanent ban and forfeiture of the listing. Where required, BidGoat cooperates with law enforcement and with brand rights holders.

BidGoat may also remove listings, cancel transactions, refund buyers, withhold payouts on affected orders, and report activity to payment partners where a violation involves fraud or misrepresentation.

8. Buyer Protection

BidGoat operates Secure Payment Protection on every transaction. Payment is held securely and is not released to the seller until the buyer confirms delivery. If an item arrives counterfeit, materially misrepresented, or not as described, the buyer may open a dispute and BidGoat will review it. Held funds are refunded to the buyer where a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favor.

Payments are processed by Stripe. BidGoat does not store card details.

9. Reporting a Violation

If you believe a listing violates this policy, report it from within the BidGoat app or email us at the address below. Rights holders reporting suspected counterfeit or trademark infringement should include the listing reference, the mark at issue, and a description of the infringement so we can act quickly.

10. Changes to This Policy

BidGoat may update this policy as the platform, applicable law, or payment partner requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of BidGoat constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
